How To Track The Flight Price Change.

This post is another post in the series of Cheap Flights. Today I am going to write about the best way to track the changes in flight price.

If you are a frequent Flyer, You must be aware that flight prices keep on changing everyday depending upon the demand. In India due to a population of more than a billion people, there is a huge demand for fast travel. In India, the Ministry of Civil Aviation of Government of India  (http://www.civilaviation.gov.in/) is the nodal Ministry responsible for the formulation of national policies and programmes for development and regulation of Civil Aviation and for devising and implementing schemes for the orderly growth and expansion of civil air transport.

The Airports Authority of India or AAI under the Ministry of Civil Aviation is responsible for creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing civil aviation infrastructure in India. It provides Air traffic management (ATM) services over Indian airspace and adjoining oceanic areas. It also manages a total of 125 Airports, including 18 International Airports, 7 Customs Airports, 78 Domestic Airports and 26 Civil enclaves at Military Airfields.

The flight prices and number of flights keep on changing. For example IGI Airport, Delhi being the  number 1 busiest airports of India in the Capital City handled a record of 1044 Flights on 14 October 2015.
Coming back to our topic of Discussion...

Step 1: Go to https://www.google.com/flights. Enter the departure and Arrival Airport Code. Enter the date of your travel.

Step 2: See the Track price option available on google Flights. By Default it is off. Turn it ON

Step 3: Before you turn on the track prices, You should be logged into google flights with your gmail id so that whenever there are any changes in the flight prices, google flights automatic bot will send you mail reminder about the price change. You can use this option of tracking the flight ticket price both for one way and return way.

See the image below. How the flight price changes from time to time.

As is clearly visible that the flight price increases with time. But the variation is not linear. Sometimes the Price increases suddenly. Sometimes there is abrupt decrease in the flight price.
From today to one month before and two month before the flight price was still low compared to the price today.

How to get cheapest flight tickets using Google Flights?

I am a frequent traveller. I travel almost every one or two month irrespective of my busy corporate work. During my travel experience I found ways to get cheap tickets. I travelled First time in my life through TigerAir. I booked the ticket through a travel agent. Later, I came to know that i have been ripped off by the agent for the amount of 9000. When I used web check-in option of TigerAir, I came to know that the agent took Rs 9000 extra and showed me the bill Rs 30000 instead of Rs 21000 which he paid to the airlines.  After that I always booked the tickets myself. with time i came to know how to track the tickets for cheap price. I always use google flights.

Step 1: Go to https://www.google.com/flights. Click on one way. Enter your departure airport code and arrival airport code. Search for the day when the flight is cheapest. Click that date for one way.
As you can see the flight tickets vary from Rs 10995 to Rs 2062.
For example in the pic I chose 8 June as the date having cheap price.

Step 2: Next, Click on Round Trip and search for the return date. Find the return date when the ticket is cheap. Among the various cheap return flights, I chose 15 June as the return date of flight.

Step 3: Check which airline has been selected by Google for you which has the cheapest flight ticket. If you are satisfied with the airline and timing having cheap flight. Go ahead and Book the flight with the same airline.

Step 4: Next Identify the weight of baggage you are carrying. It is always cheaper to book the luggage before confirming the ticket. As you can see each airline has a different rate for different baggage weight. Airasia charges Rs 0 for 15 kg baggage.

Step 5: Travel insurance, I always choose no.

Step 5: Now make the payment and off you go.

Step 6: Choose the wallet. This option is not necessary. It is optional only if you are a wallet user of paytm, Freecharge, oxygen, Mobikwik, etc. However an additional fee of Rs 99 is Chargeable in case of payment with wallet

I will write another post about getting cheap tickets on airasia using E-Gift Voucher.

Which is better: Blogger or Wordpress

Blogger v/s WordPress: A comparison

Blog is a Web site on which an individual or group of users record opinions, information, etc. on a regular basis. Blogging has been around for almost 15 years now. Blogs have evolved from being personal online journals to fully functional self-advertising, business and social media tools. Websites have changed, self-expression has evolved from personal story-telling to video blogs, and new blogging outlets have emerged. The most widely used platforms right now are Blogger and WordPress. In this article i will provide the comparison between the famous free websites Blogger and WordPress First of all let me say a few lines of introduction about both of these.

Blogger is a blog-publishing service that allows private or multi-user blogs with time-stamped entries. It was created by Pyra Labs, which was bought by Google in 2003. Generally, the blogs are hosted by Google at a subdomain of blogspot.com.

WordPress is a free and open source blogging tool and a content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL. WordPress is currently the most popular blogging system in use on the Web.

Running a site is enjoyable, but you have to determine certain things for yourself from a professional perspective. If you are a started, it is always suggested to opt Blogger. If you are serious about your blogging, then you are suggested to choose WordPress Self-Hosting domain and there are many other WordPress Hosting services available. You can enjoy the power of WordPress with these Self-Hosted blogs.

Key Differences between Blogger and WordPress:

Dashboard

(a dashboard is a user interface that, somewhat resembling an automobile's dashboard, organizes and presents information in a way that is easy to read.)

Blogger: It has an updated dashboard design. More features are available, but to make use of all of them, it is compulsory to enable JavaScript.
WordPress: The Dashboard in WordPress increases the speed for the dial-up users so that they can easily post an entry without facing too much difficulty, or wasting time.

Languages

Blogger: Blogger by Google supports only 50 languages.
WordPress: WordPress supports nearly 120+ languages.

Domain Names

Blogger: You can transfer your domain for free or you can buy one through the BlogSpot interface. And, once again free blogs are created as sub-domains with URLs like xyz.blogspot.com.
WordPress: The user has to pay some amount in order to transfer an existing domain in case of the paid service, but of course you can create free blogs on wordpress.com in form of a sub-domain like abc.wordpress.com. Wordpress comes in two flavors: wordpress.com and wordpress.org. The .com version is the free side of wordpress and inserts ads into your blog. The .org side hosts wordpress pay to play features

Image Storage

Blogger: When you upload photos to Blogger they are stored in Google’s photo system, Picasa. There you can browse your images and much more. In blogger there is 1 GB of storage space (images under 2048×2048 do not count towards that limit, so it’s actually MUCH more than 1 gig) for storing images. If you required more space, you’ve to pay for more space.
WordPress: It has 3GB of storage space. But, if you want more space then you’ll have to upgrade by paying some money.

Categories

Blogger: There is an option called Labels, which serves as a tag, and posts are archived in monthly and yearly manner.
WordPress: It has an option to upload categories and tags.

Static Pages

Blogger: You can create up to twenty static pages, but like WordPress those static pages cannot be placed on the home page easily. If you want to show such static page as homepage, you've to edit the template HTML which is painfully complex for many users.
WordPress: You can create as many pages or posts that can be listed in the home page.

Money

Blogger: Blogger supports Google's Ad sense service as a way of getting revenue from running a blog. Blogger can be optionally integrated with Google +
WordPress: It doesn't support monetization. There are tons of Blogger Blogs ranking in the top page in Google for various keywords, but you won’t see too many WordPress.com blogs ranking high.

Bottom Line: See the wordPress view of this post here. click here
